On another note, I think Daisy isn’t as dumb as everyone believes she is. Daisy is very smart and very manipulative. She knows what she wants and how to get what she wants. She is also a very changeable person, mentally and emotionally. Nick makes a lot of comments on this in the first chapter. I didn’t notice it until my third time reading it.

I agree about Daisy - I always read her as manipulating everyone to react to her as she wants them to (my favorite example of this being her wanting Nick to sympathize with her, so she SUDDENLY launches into the story of “let me tell you what i said when my daughter was born” like where the fuck did that even come from really)
